Brenda Cartwright is an experienced interpreter, teacher and presenter. She is the Director of the Sign Language Interpreter Program at Lansing Community College. She holds a Comprehensive Skills Certificate (CSC), Certificate of Transliteration (CT), and Certificate of Interpretation (CI) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

Wish it wasn't so darn expensive. It does give us a lot to talk about at our K-12 jobs though.

A must have for NIC Interview prep

This is a great book to prepare for the NIC. Great variety of scenarios with some interpreter and Deaf consumer perspectives. Most scenarios don't have an interpreter's perspective though, so if you want to practice for the NIC you have to make that part up.

This book is extremely useful, especially for an Interpreter in Training like myself. It gives me many different scenarios that I might experience in the future, and having an inside look at all of these makes me feel more comfortable going into this profession. Who knows, I might be in one of these situations during my career, and instead of not knowing how to handle it, I will be able to refer back to this book and resolve the issue. This is an invaluable tool.
